Champagne afternoon tea at Bovey Castle hotel on Dartmoor

My absolute favourite thing has to be the champagne cream tea at Bovey Castle on Dartmoor. It’s a total treat with gorgeous, homemade patisserie, bite-size sandwiches and giant scones groaning with clotted cream and jam – all washed down with a glass of chilled champagne. It’s become a bit of an annual birthday ritual and I love it! The hotel is utterly luxurious but the staff are so friendly and relaxed and don’t mind my two kids jumping about. My top tip is to try and get the table in front of the fire in the Cathedral Room and sink into the huge sofa. It really is bliss!
